Introducing North v3: Intelligent automation for cloud, AI, and data spend

Today, we’re launching North v3, a flagship evolution of the North platform which brings cloud, AI, and data spend into one system with accelerated features and data services. Until now, North helped teams manage cloud spend. Starting today, North becomes the AI-powered financial operating system for your whole stack, bringing visibility, automation, optimization, and procurement ops into one platform.

Cloud spend stopped being a single-provider problem a long time ago. A typical team now runs production across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, keeps its data in Snowflake, and ships features on Claude and GPT models.

That spend is fragmented across providers, with no shared context between them.

We've watched this gap widen since founding North in 2023. Visibility alone was never going to close it, so we built North v3 to act on the whole picture.

Complete multi-cloud coverage with Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is now generally available in North, joining AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

North's dashboard now surfaces Azure spend, budget utilization, and savings data alongside AWS and GCP, all from one unified view.

With Azure in North, you can:

• Analyze Azure spend with detailed breakdowns and forecasts.
• Allocate costs across subscriptions, teams, and business units.
• Use Anomalies to catch unexpected cost changes as they appear.
• Ask Noros questions about your Azure spend.
• Use Autobot to automate self-owned Azure commitments.
• Move between AWS, GCP, and Azure without leaving North.

Azure reached general availability after a successful beta with early customers. North is now approaching $2 billion a year in cloud spend managed across all three cloud providers.

Autonomous commitment management with Autobot

Commitments are one of the biggest levers for cutting cloud spend, and this isn't new territory for North.

Today, many North customers already save through Flexbot, formerly Arctic, which delivers up to 55% off eligible compute spend, including Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). North holds the three-year commitments in its own accounts, so customers get the discount with month-to-month flexibility instead of a long-term contract.

With North v3, we’re adding a second engine: Autobot. It automates purchasing for customer-owned commitments and adjusts coverage as usage changes.

Autobot lets you simulate coverage strategies before committing, so you can see the tradeoffs between savings, flexibility, and coverage ahead of time.

You set the goals and guardrails, including how aggressively to pursue savings and how much flexibility you need. Autobot uses machine learning to model usage daily and make purchasing decisions month-to-month.

Instead of making one large commitment upfront, Autobot buys in smaller monthly increments. It balances one- and three-year terms, then purchases and renews commitments as your needs change.

Before anything is purchased, you can run interactive simulations to see how different strategies affect savings, coverage, and flexibility.

With Autobot, you can:

• Automatically purchase and renew customer-owned commitments across cloud providers.
• Set savings goals, flexibility requirements, and purchasing guardrails.
• Blend one- and three-year terms as your usage shifts.
• Simulate outcomes before making a purchase.
• Run Autobot alongside Flexbot and choose the mix that fits your strategy.

The two paths differ in ownership, flexibility, and how commitments are managed. With Flexbot, North holds the commitments and gives you flexible access to the discount. With Autobot, you own the commitment inventory while the purchasing decisions run automatically.

With Flexbot active, North surfaces ready-to-act recommendations, like this 3-year savings plan, so you can capture savings without owning the commitment.

Most commitment management tools still require underwriting and sales meetings. They often provide fixed procurement at a high cost, with much of the work still handled manually.

Autobot is priced at roughly one-fifth of what those providers charge. It’s also backed by a net savings guarantee: if it doesn’t beat your effective savings rate from last year, it’s free.

AI and data spend, natively integrated

AI and data are among the fastest-growing line items in modern infrastructure. Most cost tools ignore them, so they become a blind spot right as they start to scale.

North v3 adds native integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Snowflake through CostLoops, North's integrations library, bringing model and data spend into the same view as your cloud bill.

TokenFlow for AI and LLM spend (beta)

AI spend moves differently than cloud spend. Token usage climbs quietly through the month and surfaces as a surprise only when the bill arrives.

TokenFlow, in early beta with early access opening soon, gives visibility and control over generative AI token spend across every model, provider, and team, so you can:

• See token spend as it happens, not weeks later at invoice time.
• Attribute every token back to the workload and team driving it.
• Set limits and policies before spend has a chance to grow.

A redesigned experience, including Generative Dashboards

Building reports by hand is slow, and modeling a commitment strategy without a way to simulate it is guesswork. Basic spend questions shouldn't require an analyst and a week of waiting.

Generative Dashboards let you ask Noros, North’s FinOps Agent, in plain language, turning each question into a widget. The redesigned experience also brings:

• Interactive commitment simulations and planning tools.
• Answers you can pin and schedule for delivery.
• Simplified navigation for engineering and finance teams.

Question-to-working-dashboard now takes minutes, with no data analyst in the loop. Try asking Noros: “Build me a dashboard of my weekly costs over the last 6 months by service type.”

Ask Noros a plain-language question, and it builds the dashboard for you, no analyst or BI ticket required.

North v3 also ships an updated interface, refreshed brand, and new website.

What’s next

North v3 is a foundation, not a finish line, and the roadmap follows where spend lives now. More of the AI and data stack will land in North next through our integrations library, TokenFlow will continue moving toward general availability, and Rightsize will expand to Azure as the integration matures.
